The following is the Hotel on Devonport's commitment to achieve a New Zealand that remains clean and green forever:
- We recycle all paper, plastic and tin. Our housekeeping team separates these items from guests rooms and disposes of them in the correct manner
- We offer guests the option of re-using your towels if you stay more than one night
- We have fresh air fans in all rooms to promote fresh air flow and as an alternative to the use of air-conditioners.
- All rooms are fitted with hush double glazing to maximise comfort and reduce the need for air conditioning.
- All toilet tissue throughout the hotel is Earth Care, 100% recycled paper.
- Throughout the hotel "switch it off" stickers are placed as a prompt to save power.
- Staff to use re-usable paper when appropriate.
- Hallway lighting and car park lighting is set on timers to save energy usage.
- We buy local produce and supplies when possible.
- Large amounts of left over food is donated to the food bank.
- Water glasses & carafes are used in the conference rooms to promote usage instead of plastic bottles.
